There’s an old saying, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” the etymology of which has been lost to time. The meaning is not literal but, typically, a commentary on how there is no judging for taste — what one person may think is worthless may be cherished by another.
Every day, we discard tonnes of objects, as they become surplus to our requirements. But in doing so, we are sending these items on a new journey – one we rarely get a glimpse of. Did the original owner of these items ever envisage their new life ? Life is full of surprises.
